Beverley J. Hunter, age 81, a resident of the Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA., and formerly of Carbondale, PA., died Thursday afternoon, March 8, 2012 at the nursing home.
Born October 14, 1930 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Gordon H. and Grace Glosenger Hunter.
She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School and worked at Peckville Sewing Company for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. She was also an avid bingo player.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wayne Woodlands Manor and Traditional Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care to Beverley.
She is survived by one sister: Edna Pritchard and husband Robert of Melbourne, FL.; two brothers: Roy Hunter and wife Mary of Waymart, PA. and Gordon Hunter and wife Maris of Oceanside, CA.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: James and Howard Hunter; one sister: Thelma Miller.
The funeral was held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Rev. Doug Posegate, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale, officiating. Interment, East Canaan Cemetery, South Canaan, PA.
Friends called Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 4-7 PM.
Pallbearers: Randy Hunter, Andrew Hunter, Kevin Hunter, Gary Keen, Noah Yates and Robert Miller.
