Betty Castro, 75, of Scranton, PA, died Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Allied Services Hospice, Scranton, after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Adalberto Castro, Sr. on January 8, 1986.

Born October 25, 1950 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Felicita Guzman.

Betty is survived by her devoted children: Jasmin Spain and husband, Mark and Adalberto Castro, Jr. and wife, Amy; her loving grandchildren: Kailene Castro, Angela Williams, Julisa Freeman and Adrianna Castro; her two great-grandsons: Marques Spain and Gianni Freeman; her three siblings: Corrado Guzman, Migdalia Guzman and Minga Vazquez; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was also preceded in death by her loving daughter: Annette Castro; and five siblings.

A viewing was held Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA. A Catholic blessing service was conducted at 3:00 p.m.

Betty was laid to rest with her husband at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
