Benjamin H. Telford, age 63, of Crystal Lake, PA., died early Tuesday morning, February 19, 2008 at the special care unit of the Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA. His wife of 44 years is the former Joann Kilmer.
Born April 22, 1944 in Simpson, PA., he is the son of Betty (Pickering) Telford of Simpson and the late Benjamin Telford, Sr. He was a United States Army Veteran and worked as a logger for 20 years for Bob Kilmer Logging in Clifford, PA. and also as a quarryman for 20 years for Doug Kilmer Flagstone Quarries in Uniondale, PA. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4712 in Simpson and the American Legion Albert H. Crane Post 221 in Carbondale, PA. He enjoyed playing cards, billiards, golfing and did small engine and lawnmower repair as a hobby on the side. He loved his family very much and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by one daughter: Kim husband Jim Bowman of Hop Bottom, PA.; one son: Brian Telford of Hop Bottom, PA.; one brother: Robert Lyman of Carbondale, PA.; three grandchildren: Melissa Sarah Bowman and Austin Telford; Several nieces nephews. A memorial service was held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford. Inurnment with Military Honors, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
Cremation took place from Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Friends called Friday, February 22, 2008 from 6-8 PM.
