Beatrice E. Cowperthwait, age 101, a resident of the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA. and formerly of Clifford, PA. died Thursday morning, November 4, 2004 at the nursing home. She was the wife of the late William J. Cowperthwait, who died January 6, 1977. Born December 30, 1902 in RD Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Edith (Dowe) Cosklo. She was a member of the Forest City United Methodist Church, Forest City, PA. She and her husband operated a farm for over 60 years. She is survived by one daughter: Grace Kozlowski of Natick, MA.; one brother: Edward Cosklo of Carbondale, PA.; 8 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Several Nieces Nephews She was preceded in death by two sons: James and William Cowperthwait; Three brothers: Fred, Andrew and Samuel Cosklo; one sister: Mae Wallace A private graveside service was held Monday, November 8, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the Clifford Valley Cemetery, Main Street, Clifford, with the Rev. Susan Hartman-Zimmerman, pastor of the Forest City United Methodist Church, officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford.
