Barbara Jean Shouse, 66, of Carbondale, PA, died Monday, December 23, 2024 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA.

Born October 14, 1958 in Scranton, PA, she is the daughter of Jean Fagerlin Kossman of Forest City, PA, and the late George Grant Kossman, Sr.

She worked as a nurses aid for the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Forest City, PA, for many years. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Greenfield Township, PA, and enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by one daughter: Jessica Shouse; one sister: Ruth Gonsauls of Browndale, PA; and one brother: Lance Kossman of Forest City, PA.

She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Laura Mae Shouse; two brothers: John Kossman and George Kossman, Jr.; and a sister: Deneen Sampson.

Cremation arrangements were under the care of Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
