Barbara "Cookie" Rhodes, 79, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA, on January 9, 2021 with family by her side, after a long battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wallace Edward Rhodes, her brother, Robert Farmer, her brother-in-law, Ervin Stallings and her nephew, Jamie Stallings. Cookie is survived by her dear sister, Cathy and her husband, Chubby Thompson of NC; her three children, Barry Rhodes of Yorktown, VA, Brian (Marcella) Rhodes of Windsor, NY, Tina Rhodes (Dan Yoder) of Hallstead, PA; her grandchildren, Melayna (Ryan), Victoria, Alyssa, Garrett, and Caitlin; her great grandchild, Allison and several nieces and nephews. Barbie was an active member of the Watson Hill Bible Church and a member of the Advancing Watch Women whose mission is to help less fortunate women. She loved dancing, reading and enjoyed crafts. Memorial contributions in her memory were made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702. The family is eternally grateful to the staff at this facility. Services were private. Arrangements were entrusted to Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
