Barbara A. Hill, 80, of Greenfield Township, PA, died Friday evening, January 9, 2015 at the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Forest City, PA, where she was a resident for the last six months. She was preceded in death by her husband William C. Hill, who died January 10, 1978. Born April 12, 1934 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Margaret (Hoyle) Clemens. Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family brought her great pleasure. She devoted much of her time and energy by following her children and grandchildren's sports activities. The family would like to thank the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff for all their kind and compassionate care to Barbara. She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Pellicano and husband Joseph of Dickson City, PA, Elizabeth DelVecchio of Scranton, PA and Gretchen Gardus and husband Francis of Simpson, PA; three sons: William Hill of CT, Bruce Hill of Greenfield Township, PA and James Hill of Scranton, PA; ten grandchildren: Joseph and Nicholas Pellicano, Jennifer, Stephanie and Kimberly Hill, Olivia and Andrea DelVecchio, Benjamin, Audrey and Sadie Gardus; six great grandchildren: Mikayla, Nicholas and Taylor Pellicano, Anaijah Campbell, Daniel Zeleznik and Ariana Lowe; one sister: Lucille Smedley; two nephews: Jack and Gary Smedley. The funeral was held Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Rev. John McCarty, pastor of the Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale, officiating. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA.
