Barbara M. Bryda, 63, a 15 year resident of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Creekside Health and Rehab Center, Carbondale. Born August 14, 1954 in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Zofia Pierzchala Dzialoszynski. She was a former resident of Elizabeth, New Jersey and a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She had been employed as a teachers aid at Elizabethport Catholic School, Elizabeth, NJ. Barbara loved animals and was especially fond of her pets, all of whom she rescued from the local animal shelter. She is survived by her companion: Ferdynand Szlachta of Carbondale; three children: Donna Bryda of Coventry, RI, Robert Bryda and Anna Bryda both of Elizabeth, NJ. The funeral was held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Marek Wasilewski, assistant pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church, Honesdale, PA. Interment, St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
