Aurelio
Catanzaro
March 18, 1937 – June 26, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Aurelio Catanzaro (a.k.a. Larry or Sonny). Though it saddens us to lose him, we will be forever grateful that we had him in our lives for these many years. He always put family first and made sure he engrained those values in all of us. Though our rock is gone, the impression he made on all who knew him will never fade.

He was a 1955 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He later received his bachelor's degree from Wilkes University and a master's degree from the University of Scranton. Larry retired as vice president/controller for Caesars Pocono Resorts and served as auditor for Mayfield and Jermyn boroughs for many years. He also served two terms on the Lakeland School Board and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Mabel Costa; two sons: Michael Catanzaro and wife, Sharon of Childs, PA, and Lawrence Catanzaro and wife Jamie of Jessup, PA; one daughter: Melissa Good and husband, Joseph of Chapman Lake, PA; one brother: Francis Catanzaro and wife, Linda of Carbondale, PA; one sister: Ann Sudlesky of Carbondale, PA; and the loves of his life, his five grandchildren: Nicholas, Maria, Giana, Alyssa and Noel; and several nieces and nephews.
