Obituary

Augusto Orazi, 77, of Clarks Summit, PA. and formerly of George Street, Throop, PA., died Monday night, November 19, 2007 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. Born December 27, 1929 in Jessup, PA., he was the son of the late Dante and Maria (Sensi) Orazi, Sr. He was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale PA., class of 1947. He served honorably for many years in the Army and participated in the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart, Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. He attended St. Ann's Basilica, Scranton and was a member of the American Legion Post 945, of Throop. He was a retired youth counselor at Still Meadow and prior to that he was a salesman. He was an avid hunter. His family will fondly remember him as a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. He is survived by two daughters: Ann Barbara and Husband Joseph, Sr. of Clarks Summit, PA. and Margaret McIntosh of Scranton, PA.; one brother and two sister-in-laws: Dante Orazzi and wife Dorothy and Mary Orazzi all of Greenfield Township, PA.; four grandchildren: Sherry Dean of Clarks Summit, PA., Joseph Barbara, Jr. of Archbald, PA., Terry Pierce of Tennessee and James Orazi of New York; five great grandchildren: Victoria Gullone of Clarks Summit, PA., Emily, Hannah and Dante Orazi all of Olyphant, PA. and Joseph Barbara, III. of Florida; He was survived by many nieces and nephews that he was especially fond of. He was preceded in death by one son: Dante Orazi, III.; one brother: Peter Orazzi; one great grandson: Joshua Barbara. A blessing service was held Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Francis Landry, of St. Anns Basilica, officiating. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Joseph Barbara, Jr., James Orazi, Terry, Michael and Peter Orazzi, Brian, Chris and Keith Smith. Friends called Friday, November 23, 2007 from 5-8 PM.
