Auburn D. Lyons, 43, of South Gibson, PA, died Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2014 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Apalachin, NY. His wife of 15 years is Janet Watson. Born December 3, 1970 in Miami, FL, he was a native Floridian and had resided in the area for the past 15 years. While in Florida, he was an avid circle track racer. For the past nine years, he and his wife were the owners and handlers of several Great Danes having competed in many dog shows throughout the country. Auburn was currently employed as a CNC operator for General Dynamics in Scranton. He was a fan of the Miami Dolphins and NASCAR. He is survived by one sister: Robin Johnson and one brother: William Lyons both of Florida; one step daughter: Bridget Watson of Longwood, FL.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents who raised him: Auburn "Terry" and Laverne Lambert. A memorial service was held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the South Gibson United Methodist Church, 2839 State Route 2067, South Gibson, with Pastor Naveen Nischal, officiating. The family greeted friends following the service from 3-6 PM at the church. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
