Artur Roth, age 85, of Clifford Township, PA., died Thursday morning, October 18, 2012 at home. His wife is the former Regina Weinkauf. They were married on July 24, 1949.
Born January 5, 1927 in Nuremberg, Germany, he was the son of the late George and Helen (Zimmer) Roth.
Artur and Regina moved from Nuremburg Germany to the United States in 1951 where they resided in Philadelphia before moving to Clifford Township 45 years ago. He received his formal education in Germany and worked as a plant engineer for the American Cigar Company in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania for many years. He was a member of the Bethel Congregation at Welsh Hill Church, Clifford Township.
He is survived by one daughter: Monika Roth Huynh of San Diego, CA.; one grandson: Mitchell Ihlefeldt of San Diego, CA.; one brother: Albert Roth of Germany.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Walter Roth.
The funeral was held Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 11:00 AM from the Bethel Congregation at Welsh Hill Church, Clifford Township, celebrated by Rev. Jay Molyneaux, pastor. Interment, Welsh Hill Cemetery, Clifford Township.
Pallbearers: Jason Clancy, Timothy Ihlefeldt, Angelo Paolella, IV., Erving Belcher and Guenther Boden.
Friends called Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
