Arthur O. Red Roberts, age 69, of RR 1 Forest City, PA died late Saturday evening, March 13, 2004 at home following a lengthy illness.
Born December 28, 1934 in Lenoxville, PA. He was the son of the late Ray C. and Lena May (Severance) Roberts.
He was a graduate of Harford Schools. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union. He also worked at Lenox Propane in West Clifford, PA and Laperas Gas Station in Royal, PA.
He is survived by one daughter: Amy Mushala of Simpson, PA.; four sons: Arthur R. Roberts of Forest City, PA., Donald P. Roberts of Cherry Point, NC., Joseph D. Roberts of Runnemede, NJ. and James W. Roberts of Boston, MA.; two sisters: Marion Schmitt of Uniondale, PA. and Virginia Miller; one brother: Ray Roberts of Binghamton, NY.; 9 Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by one brother: Emery Roberts; two sisters: Louise Hinkley and Jean Anthony
The funeral was held Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at 11:00 am from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with the Rev. Frank Bissol, pastor of the Elkdale Baptist Church, West Clifford, officiating. Interment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford.
