Arthur J. Lewis, 68, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA., died Monday morning, August 12, 2013 at home. Born February 21, 1945 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late George and Emma Helms Lewis. He was a 1963 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a diesel mechanic for most of his life. He is survived by two sisters: Helen Thomas of Florida and Carol Holtsmaster of South Carolina; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward and David Lewis. As per his request he was cremated and no services were held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
