Antoinette Nina Surace, 92, formerly of Carbondale, PA., died early Monday morning, December 8, 2008 at the Asera Care Hospice, Peckville, PA. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Dominick Doc Pollitts and Patrick Surace. Born February 28, 1916 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Josephine (Loretto) Palmieri.She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and had been employed for many years in the local garment industry as a seamstress.She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who deeply loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by one daughter: Antoinette Petrini and husband Baldo of Peckville, PA., with whom she resided; two sisters: Jennie Notte of New Jersey and Rose Opedisano of Niagara Falls, NY.; one brother: Stephen Palmieri and wife Jean of Niagara Falls, NY.; two granddaughters: Nancy Gongliewski and husband John Jr. of Quakertown, PA. and Christine McGeachie and husband Donald of Peckville, PA.; two great grandchildren: John Gongliewski III. and Stephanie Taticchi both of Peckville, PA.; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by one brother: James Palmieri; one sister: Anne Cerra.The funeral was held Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale., celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: John Gongliewski, Jr., John Gongliewski, III., Stephanie Taticchi and Donald McGeachie. Friends called Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from 2-4 7-9 PM.
