Anthony J. Pellicano, Sr., age 85, of Carbondale, PA., died late Monday evening, September 27, 2010 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. He was the husband of the late Rose (Muto) Pellicano, who died April 5, 1996. Born January 13, 1925 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Anthony and Catherine (Chirico) Pellicano. He attended Mayfield High School, Mayfield, PA., and worked several years as a maintenance supervisor for Triangle Pacific Company, Carbondale. He retired from the maintenance department at the Scranton Jewish Community Center, Scranton, PA. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. His greatest joy in life was his family who will dearly miss him. He is survived by four sons: Anthony J. Pellicano, Jr. and wife Roseann of Brick , NJ., Joseph Pellicano and wife Barbara of Dickson City, PA., Saverio Pellicano of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. and Michael Pellicano and wife Susan of Olyphant, PA.; two daughters: Carolyn Langan and husband Martin of Newton Lake, PA. and Mary Pellicano of Carbondale, PA.; eight grandchildren: Anthony Pellicano, III., Karen Langan, Jessica Bertocki, Joseph Pellicano, Jr., Michael Pellicano, Jr., Nicholas Pellicano, Jennifer Pellicano and Samantha Pellicano; five great grandchildren: Tony Pellicano, Nicholas Pellicano, Abigail Bertocki, Mikayla Pellicano and Taylor Rose Pellicano; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen Tochelli and Augustine Muto; one brother-in-law: August Tochelli. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Rose and Catherine Pellicano. The funeral was held Friday, October 1, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Anthony Pellicano, III., Joseph Pellicano, Jr., Michael Pellicano, Jr., Nicholas Pellicano, Tony Pellicano and Jason Bertocki. Friends called Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
