Anthony F. Morell, 78, a resident of Athens, NY. for the past five months and formerly of Carbondale, PA., died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at home. Born February 21, 1932 in Dunmore, PA., he was the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Perkins) Morell. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School, Dunmore, PA. and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He had been employed as a truck driver for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and retired from COLTS as a maintenance supervisor. He was a very special pops to his grandchildren and was always there for them when they needed him the most. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by one daughter: Kimberly Jones and husband Andrew of Catskill, NY.; seven step children: Thomas Tomaine of Carbondale, PA., Leonard Tomaine of Olyphant, PA., Edward Tomaine and wife Karina of Sugar Hill, GA., Karen Tomaine and husband Scott Stiner of Moosic, PA., Robyn Zazzera and husband Michael of Carbondale, PA., Tami Lipko and husband Joseph of Carbondale, PA. and Alicia Zazzera and husband Stephen of Crystal Lake, PA.; one brother: Charles Morell of Dunmore, PA.; his former wives: Patricia Morell of Carbondale, PA. and Mary Jane DiBello of Athens, NY.; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A blessing service was held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale with Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, officiating. Cremation followed. Inurnment, Primitive Methodist Cemetery, Dickson City, PA.
