Anthony J. Miller, Jr., 79, of Cherry Ridge, PA, died Saturday morning, November 7, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. He was the husband of the former Irene F. Staple, who died August 20, 2010. Born July 21, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Katherine Wachtler Miller. In his younger years, Anthony worked on the family farm in Cherry Ridge and later became a carpenter where he worked for many different contractors. He retired from the maintenance department at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, fly fishing and golfing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will also be missed by his faithful companion, his dog Rusty. He is survived by three daughters: Debbie Brunori and husband Fred of Scott Township, PA, Casey Brew and husband Bill of Carbondale, PA and Michelle Miller of Carbondale, PA; two sons: Mark Miller and wife Laurie of Union Dale, PA and Anthony Miller, III. and fiance Barbara Williams of Honesdale, PA; eight grandchildren: Camber Castellano, Justin Roberts, Kendall and William Brew, Mark and Caroline Miller, Fred Brunori and Jaclyn Williams-Boring; a sister: Kathleen Stehlin and husband Bob of South Carolina; two brothers: Ronald Miller and wife Betty of South Carolina and Robert Miller of Mechanicsburg, PA; a sister-in-law: Norrice Vadala and husband Bruno of Carbondale, PA; a brother-in-law: Tom Staple and wife Cookie of Carbondale, PA; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Monday, November 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale. Cremation followed.
