Obituary

Anthony (Tony) Natale Imbalzano, former resident of Turnersville, NJ and Carbondale, PA, died peacefully on Monday, May, 2, 2022 in his home surrounded by loved ones. Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, the former Patricia Carito. They were married on September 28, 1963 and all of his married life Tony carried a black and white photo of Patricia in his wallet next to a copy of a poem entitled, "I am in Love." Tony was born in Carbondale, PA on November 29, 1934, to Natale and Maria (Tancredi) Imbalzano and was the fifth child in a close family of 11 siblings. Tony was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and Goldey-Beacom College. Tony traveled around the United States and to many countries after high school, serving in the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator. Tony retired from the 3M Company after over 30 years of employment. He then worked another 20 years for K-Tron Corporation. Tony was an avid gardener and a New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies fan. Tony was known by many who loved him for his friendliness, kindness, and generosity. Tony is survived by Patricia; children: Tony Jr. and his wife, Karen of Shrewsbury, MA, Michelle and her husband, Barry of Westfield, IN, and Michael and his wife, Dorothy of Havertown, PA. Tony loved spending time with his grandchildren: Thomas (Tina), Katherine (Ben), Julia, Benjamin, Abbey, Jim (Alexa), Peter (Becca), and Elise (Colin), and great-grandchild: Charlotte. Tony is also survived by his siblings, sisters: Genevieve, Josephine, Anne, Teresa, and Carmel; and brothers, John and Ralph. Tony also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. Tony was preceded in death by his brother: Frank and sisters: Marie and Frances. The funeral was held Friday, May 6, 2022 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnak, pastor. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Carbondale, PA. Pallbearers: Thomas Imbalzano, Benjamin Muirhead, Benjamin Wiggins, Colin Eggert-Crowe, Scott Goodheart and Peter Hunter.
