Srebro, age 54, of Dickson City, PA. a teacher in the Mid Valley School District died early Wednesday morning, April 13, 2005 at home. His wife of 32 years is the former Michele Mondro. Born May 1, 1950 in Scranton, PA. He is the son of Regina A. (Rosiak) Srebro of Scranton and the late Joseph Srebro. He was a 1968 graduate of Dickson City High School and a 1973 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. He maintained a strong relationship with the university through NASA summer research programs and science workshops. This relationship continues as his two daughters are currently attending Penn State. Tony taught Earth and Space Science at Mid Valley for 30 years. During this time, Tony shared his love of science and atronomy with his students through his creative and energetic approach to teaching. He founded the Astronomy Club and guided the addition of a planetarium to the resources available for his students interested in learning about their universe. Tonys love of classic cars, photography and Macintosh computers were part of his teaching and his life. His students, family and friends were all fortunate to have been touched by such a gentle and joyful person who saw something worth understanding in everyone and everything he encountered. He is survived by two daughters: Alexandra Srebro Tessa Srebro; three sisters: Colette husband Jack Hughes of Clarks Summit, PA., Elaine husband Ron Ord of Falls, PA. and Jean Collins of Scranton, PA.; six brothers: Rev. Joseph E. wife Sharon Srebro of Woodbury, NJ., Marion wife Valerie Srebro of Scranton, PA., Len wife Barbara Srebro of Scranton, PA., Paul wife Kathy Srebro of Scranton, PA., Mark wife Christine Srebro of Factoryville, PA. and Tom wife Joann Srebro of Factoryville, PA.; Numerous Nieces, Nephews Cousins The funeral was held Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 10:00 am from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Dundaff Street, Dickson City, with a mass at 10:30 am in St. Adalbert's Polish National Catholic Church, 515 Mary Street, Dickson City, celebrated by the Very Reverend William Chromey, pastor. Friends called Friday, April 15, 2005 from 2-4 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the ACS27 (Anthony C. Srebro) Scholarship Fund, c/o 513 Mary Street, Dickson City, PA 18519. The scholarship will be awarded to a Mid Valley student pursuing collegiate studies in Science. Funeral arrangements were entrusted under the care of the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, cousins to the Mondro Family. Pallbearers: Tony's brothers-Rev. Joseph Srebro, Marion Srebro, Lenny Srebro, Paul Srebro, Mark Srebro and Thomas Srebro. An honor guard was provided by the faculty members of the Mid Valley School District
