Obituary

Anthony J. Criscera, age 94, a resident of the Laurels Health Rehab at Mid Valley, Peckville, PA., died Friday morning, September 26, 2008, at the facility. His wife was the late Bonnie Criscera. Born January 18, 1914 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Paul and Frances (Crisalli) Criscera. He lived most of his life in Michigan, where he was a salesman. He relocated back to Pennsylvania due to health issues in 1991. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Tank Division, which was known as Hell on Wheels. He is survived by one brother: Patrick and wife Margaret Criscera; two nephews: Paul and wife Roxanne Criscera and Patrick and wife Michelle Criscera; two nieces: Connie Pettinato and Margaret and husband Joe Olsewski, who were also his caregivers; Several Grand Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister: Catherine Mordo. The funeral was held Monday, September 29, 2008, at 10:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Carbondale. Pallbearers: Paul Patrick Criscera and Joseph Olsewski all Nephews. Friends called Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 5-7 pm.
