Anthony A. Caporali, 89, of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Verna Fulmer on July 29, 1999. Born April 7, 1929 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine Bruno Caporali. Anthony started his career at Race Lumber Yard, Carbondale, and then became a carpenter and foreman for Thompson Flooring Company, Pittsburgh. He laid hardwood floors for them in Pittsburgh and later in New Mexico. After moving back to Carbondale, he retired from Miller Casket Company, Jermyn, after 20 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, and enjoyed bowling and roller skating. Anthony took great pride in his work and had a heart of gold, helping anyone in need. He will be missed by his family. The family would like to thank the staff of the Wayne Woodlands Manor for their excellent care of him during his stay. He is survived by one daughter: Andrea Hendrick and husband William of Hawaii; one son: David Caporali of Winter Haven, FL; three brothers: Frank Caporali and wife Marie, Joseph Caporali and wife Ruth and Michael Caporali and wife Kathy, all of Carbondale, PA; four grandchildren: Billy, Dawn, Christopher and Jennean: great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his baby sister: Gema Caporali, and first wife: Angela Falbo. The funeral was held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. James Price, C.P., pastor. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA. Pallbearers: Michael Caporali, Jr., James Caporali, Michael Corey Caporali, Dominick Purvis, Jonathan Purvis, Joseph Lee, Michael DeRichie and Joshua DeRichie.
