Anna M. Scavo age 93, of 94 North Scott Street, Carbondale died early Saturday morning, March 16, 2002 at Hospice Preferred Care, Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Anthony Scavo who died September 11, 1973. Born June 24, 1908 in Carbondale. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Padden) Balzano. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Carbondale. She was a former member of the Womens Postal Auxillary and the Italian Sportsmans Ladies Auxillary. She is survived by one daughter: Catherine Cerra of Greenfield Twp., PA; two sons: Charles A. Scavo of Carbondale, PA and Thomas J. Scavo of Carbondale, PA; 6 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews The funeral was held Wednesday, March 20, 2002 from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc. Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale with mass at 10:00 am from Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Falbrook Street, Carbondale celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale and Rev. Andrew Gallia, pastor of St. Marys Assumption Church, Jessup. Interment, Parish Cemetery, Carbondale. Visitation was held Tuesday, March 19, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9.
