Anna Race, age 91, of Dundaff, PA., died Saturday morning, August 6, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Carol Dennis in White Haven, PA. Her husband was the late James H. Race, who died February 10, 1979. Born March 27, 1920 in Union Dale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Lasko and Anna (Klimkiewicz) Lenox. She was a member of St. John Vianney Parish at St. Pius X Church and its Altar and Rosary Society in Royal, PA. She worked at Ames Plastic Company, Forest City, PA. and Daystrom Company, Archbald, PA., for several years. She also cooked for Sidney Carpenter at his home in Crystal Lake which is now Fern Hall Inn. She enjoyed canning, gardening, cooking, baking and loved yard and garage sales. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be dearly missed by them. She is survived by one daughter: Carol Dennis of White Haven, PA.; one son: Donald Race of Charlotte, NC.; six grandchildren: Donald Race, Kristine McDonough, Marlene Mossop, Jessica Race, Kathy Henning and Gary Dennis; four great grandchildren: Owen and Collin Race, Alex Mossop and Brian Henning; two sisters: Frances Swincicki of Endwell, NY. and Mary Sullivan of Binghamton, NY.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson: David Dennis; one son-in-law: Robert Dennis; four brothers: John, Frank, Metro and Steve Lenox; three sisters: Catherine Deinhardt, Esther Baden and Helen Kozen. The funeral was held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 9:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, State Route 106, Royal, PA., celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Pallbearers: Gary Dennis, Rick Henning, Brian Henning, Donnie Race, Frank Urban and Donnie Cole. Friends called Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 6-9 PM.
