Anna E. Pietriyk, 103, formerly of Lenoxville, PA., and a resident of the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest city, PA., died Tuesday morning, December 12, 2006 at the nursing home. She was the wife of the late Carl Pietriyk, who died August 29, 1983.
Born December 5, 1903 in Mayfield, PA., she was the daughter of the late George and Blanche Przybicien Bachak.
She was a member of St. Pius X Church in Royal, PA.. She and her husband were the owners of Carl's Place in Lenoxville for 30 years.
She was a hard worker and was devoted to her family. Her family enjoyed her many Polish delicacies over the years and will cherish their memories of her especially those centered around the holidays they spent together.
She is survived by two daughters: Helen Boyarsky of Lewisburg, PA. and Blanche Williams of Kirkwood, NY.; one son: Edward Pietriyk of Susquehanna, PA.; 15 Grandchildren; Several Great and Great Great Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Irene Clementoni; one brother: Joseph Bachak; one step-brother: Ambrose Saniski; four sisters: Katherine Homlak, Mary Bomba, Julia Siegel and Stasia Deutsch: two son-in-laws: Henry Boyarsky and David Williams, Sr.; one daughter-in-law: Gloria Pietriyk; one great grandson: Brendon Pietriyk.
The funeral was held Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 8:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, celebrated by the Rev. John Polednak, pastor of St. Eulalias Church, Moscow, PA. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends called Friday, December 15, 2006 from 4-7 PM.
