Anna J. Pierce, 91, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Tuesday morning, July 1, 2008 at home. She was the wife of Clarence Pierce who died January 15, 1983.
Born May 31, 1917 in Mayfield, PA., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Danilow) Klimash. She was the current oldest member of the Finch Hill Baptist Church in Greenfield Township. She was formerly employed as a supervisor at the Gentex Corporation in Simpson PA., and she and her husband also operated a farm for many years.
She was a very compassionate and giving person and was considered a grandma to many. She was a fun loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and in return her family treasured the time they had with her. She was a terrific cook and had a great love for animals.
She is survived by two granddaughters whom she raised: Deborah Besten and husband Tony of Greenfield Township, PA. and Renee Smith and husband Paul of Dallas, PA.; three great grandchildren: Anthony, Corey and Victoria; two brothers: John Klimash of Waymart, PA. and Dr. Walter Bradley of Naples, FL.; Several Nieces Nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law: Phyllis and Albert A. Wilcha. The funeral was held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM from the Finch Hill Baptist Church, Route 106, Greenfield Township., with the Rev. Glenn Borne, former pastor, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA.
Pallbearers: Michael Wilcha, Cody Delfino, Harry Curnow, Andrew Simonik, Jack Delfino, Vincent Amacio and Derek Perri. Friends called Wednesday, July 2, 2008 from 6-9 PM at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford.
