Anna C. Best, age 80, a resident of the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA. and formerly of Childs, PA., died early Sunday morning, November 16, 2008 at the nursing home. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Best, who died July 5, 1990 and Angelo Tolerico, who died February 24, 2002. Born February 12, 1928 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Adam and Anna Christina. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and worked as a machine operator at LJ Dress Company in Childs for many years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed fishing and going on vacations. The family would like to thank the staff at the Forest City Nursing Personal Care Home for their wonderful care to Anna. She is survived by one daughter: Virginia Connor husband James of Forest City, PA.; one step daughter: Susanna Schamanich of Pine Grove, PA.; two step sons: Joseph Best wife Carol of Cannonsburg, PA. and Thomas Best of Carbondale, PA.; two grandchildren: Christopher Courtney Connor, both of Forest City, PA.; several nieces nephews She was preceded in death by four sisters: Victoria Muia, Mildred Brazowski, Stella Mary Christina; two brothers: Adam and William Christina. The funeral was held Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 8:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. William D. Campbell, senior priest. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield, PA. Friends called Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 5-8 PM. Pallbearers: James Connor (Son-in-Law), Chris Connor (Grandson), Joseph Kandrot, Paul Tomazik and Matthew Tomazik.
