Ann Mensel, age 90, a resident of the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA. and formerly of Lenoxville, PA., died Monday evening, March 2, 2009 at the nursing home. She was the wife of the late Clarence J. Mensel, Sr., who died February 6, 2000. They would have been married 74 years. Born April 17, 1918 in Throop, PA., she daughter of the late John and Mary (Yuhas) Yanochko.She was a member of St. Pius X Church in Royal, PA., and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was educated in the Dickson City schools. She worked for Best Manufacturing and Engelhard Industries in Carteret, New Jersey for 18 years. They resided in New Jersey for 35 years and retired in 1973 to live in Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Lenoxville Senior Citizens Club and was an avid quilter, crocheter, who enjoyed ceramics, arts crafts and gardening. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by three sons: Clarence Mensel, Jr. of Palm Harbor, FL., Richard Mensel of Ocean Grove, NJ. and Gerald Mensel of Lenoxville, PA.; nine grandchildren: Christine, Cheryl, Rick, Susan, Michael, Erin, Valarie, Laurie and Renee; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by three brothers: John, Michael and Joseph Yanochko; two sisters: Mary and Margaret Yanochko.The funeral was held Friday, March 6, 2009 at 9:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, celebrated by Rev. William D. Campbell, senior priest. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 4-8 PM. Pallbearers: Richard Mensel, Gerald Mensel, Rick Mensel, Michael Mensel, Kyle Wilkins and Edwin Wilkins.
