Obituary

Ann Wagner Gillette, of Carbondale, PA passed with peace and grace on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA. Born July 3, 1939 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Sophie Haneswich Wagner, and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, Class of 1957. She worked for many years in the garment factories in Waymart and Carbondale and was a caregiver for numerous people. She crocheted blankets for veterans and will be remembered for her kindness, compassion for others and strong faith. Open to all neighboring children, her kitchen was never closed. She will always be remembered as a loving sister, mother and grandmother and whose greatest accomplishment and passion was her family. She had an infectious smile and a witty sense of humor. When she wasn't watching her favorite soap opera, Days of our Lives, she was connecting with her friends and family on Facebook. She leaves us rich in memories. She is survived by her eight children, Bill and wife Debbie, Waymart, PA; Lynn Stottlemire, Carbondale, PA; Lisa Harach and husband, Lee, Simpson, PA; Jeff and wife Michele, Vandling, PA; Michael, Carbondale, PA; Lori, Carbondale, PA; Carol Ann, Carbondale, PA; Stephen and wife Rebekah, Carbondale, PA; 12 grandchildren, Billy, Tanner, Kady, Kacy, Kary, Megan, Kassandra and Gianna Gillette, Larry Totaro, Brianna Stottlemire, Jaime Mrakovich and Janel Harach ; 4 great-grandchildren, Laynie Buli, Austin, Emma and Jase Mrakovich; and her fur babies Tikka and Joey. Also surviving are her former husband, William Gillette, Sr., Carbondale, PA; three brothers, William Wagner, Montdale, PA; Gerald Wagner, Clifford Township, PA; and David Wagner, Carbondale, PA; one sister, Mary Snipes, Mayfield, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Walter, Joseph and Leo Wagner. The funeral was held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Paul Fontanella, assistant pastor and Deacon Edward Casey. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Honorary Pallbearers: Kacy and Kary Gillette. Pallbearers: William Gillette, Tanner Gillette, Danny Snipes, Gary Snipes, Michael Wagner, John Bilski, Brian Wagner and Larry Totaro.
