Angela A. Mancuso, 84, of Carbondale, PA., died Wednesday night, December 8, 2010 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA., after an extended illness. She is survived by her husband Frank T. Mancuso. They were married on May 23, 1953. Born September 8, 1926 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Angelina (Rei) Pettinato. She was a 1944 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. After her marriage, she and Frank lived in Lynchburg, Virginia for a few years before returning to Carbondale. For the past 35 years she and her husband were the owners and operators of Pettinato's Restaurant in Carbondale. She lived her life spiritually. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and was a former member of the Marian Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending her summers at the family's lake house at Crystal Lake. The highlight of her life was her four grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She was the heart and soul of her family. Family meant the most to her. She is survived by two sons: James Mancuso and wife Doreen of Dundaff, PA. and Pierre Mancuso and wife Jennifer of Scranton, PA.; one daughter: Jacinta Koerper and husband Edward (Ted) of Huntingdon Valley, PA.; four grandchildren: Angela and Christina Koerper, Nico and Chloe Mancuso; two brothers: Anthony Pettinato and wife Hilda of Endicott, NY. and James (Jackie) Pettinato and wife Yvonne of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Marie Greto and husband Anthony of Carbondale, PA.; two sister-in-law's: Ann Pettinato of Crystal Lake, PA. and Rosella Tomaine of Carbondale, PA.; several nieces and nephews great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Dr. Salvatore Pettinato. The funeral was held Monday, December 13, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor of St. Michael's Church, Simpson, PA. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
