Obituary

Andrew Mizerak, age 85, a resident of Greenfield Township, PA., for 78 years, died Saturday morning, March 1, 2008 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. His wife of 57 years is the former Pearl Uhrin. Born September 3, 1922 in Eynon, PA., he was the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Figura) Mizerak. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, PA. He was a graduate of Greenfield Township High School and was a mail carrier for the Carbondale Post Office for 21 years and a lifetime self-employed dairy farmer. He enjoyed traveling, working his dairy farm and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by them. He is survived by one daughter: Rosemarie Hancock of Victor, NY. one son: Andrew Mizerak of Greenfield Township, PA.; one sister: Pauline Paulick of Ohio; two grandchildren: Amber Mizerak of Philadelphia, PA. and Scott Mizerak of Greenfield Township, PA.; Several Nieces Nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Karhnak; two brothers: Stephen George Mizerak. The funeral was held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 9:45 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, celebrated by the Rev. William Flynn, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Monday, March 3, 2008 from 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Corpus Christi Church or Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Company. Pallbearers: Scott Mizerak (Grandson), John Karhnak, Michael Karhnak, Fran O'Peil, Michael Byrnes Henry Sufnar (All Nephews).
