Andrew C. Mazza, 23, of Greenfield Township, PA, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Gibson Township, Susquehanna County, PA. Born July 15, 1992 in Scranton, PA, he is the son of Phillip P. Mazza and companion Gina Grizzanti of Greenfield Township and Kimberly Robbins-Roberts of New Hampshire. Andrew was a 2011 graduate of Lakeland High School and is employed by the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union 542, Wilkes-Barre, PA for 5 years where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. Andrew enjoyed snowmobiling, skydiving, boating at the lake and performance diesel racing. His family would like to thank all of the EMS and Firefighters involved with the accident and are forever grateful for their efforts. He is survived by his sister: Kathleen Mazza of Jefferson City, TN, sister: Macy Phillips of Vandling, PA, half brother: Jimmy Roberts of Winchendon, MA, maternal grandfather: Chris Robbins of Colorado, maternal grandmother: Betsy Coombs of Massachusetts, great aunt: Rose Gerace of Brooklyn, NY, uncles: Michael Mazza of Lenox, PA, Christopher and Robin Mazza of Newton Lake, PA, and Charles and Leslie Mazza of Simpson, PA; several cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Kathleen and Michael Mazza. The funeral was held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell and Deacon Edward Casey. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. Pallbearers: Christopher Mazza, J.R. Mazza, Dominick Marion, Christopher Lombardi, Matthew DeAntonio, John Swift, Jessie Trichilo, Patrick Trichilo, Jr. and Jordan Davis. Friends called Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent to the donor's favorite charity in Andrew's name.
