Amelia Y. Dolly Ross, 82, of Carbondale, PA., died Tuesday morning, September 13, 2011 at Ascera Care Hospice, Peckville, PA. She was the wife of the late John J. Ross, Sr., who died May 13, 1984. Born May 6, 1929 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Maria (Gagliaro) Bruno. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the Gentex Corporation of Carbondale for 40 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She loved playing the lottery and enjoyed spending time with her family. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two sons: John J. Ross, Jr. of Jermyn, PA., and William Ross, Sr. and wife Laverne of New Castle, PA.; three daughters: Sally Moase and husband Frederick of Carbondale, PA., Sharon Burns of Anniston, AL. and Mary Simmons and husband Terrance of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Evelyn Cosklo of Crystal Lake, PA.; one brother: Emilio Bruno, Jr. of Jermyn, PA.; 14 grandchildren: Frederick Moase, Esq., Jacqueline Moase, Lori Cash, John James Ross, Jennifer Lynn Williams, Allan Ross, William Ross, Jr., Michael Ross, Nicholas Ross, Jason Cyganick, Thomas Cyganick, Patricia VanTassel, Stacie Cyganick and Lisa Engroff; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Rose Qualtiere, Lena Cavicchia, Mary Soares and Adeline Rinaldi; five brothers: Joseph, Francis, Alexander, Fiore and Thomas Bruno. The funeral was held Friday, September 16, 2011 at 8:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: John Ross, William Ross, Frederick Moase, Esq., Terrance Simmons, Thomas Cyganick and Jason Cash. Friends called Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 5-8-PM.
