Alvin N. Hadley age 78, of RR 1 Uniondale died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, May 7, 2002 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton. His wife is the former Esther Gillespie. They were married for 52 years.
Born April 11, 1924 in Decatur, IL. He was the son of the late Richard V. and Lucretia (Enlow) Hadley.
He was a prior resident of Decatur, IL. and had resided in Uniondale for the past 15 years. Prior to his retirement he was a self-employed electrician for 50 years.
He is survived by four daughters: Gail Carpenter of Fresno, CA., Kay Sarmarco of Clovis, CA., Susan LaCoe of Mountain Home, AR., and Lori Hadley of Uniondale, PA.; one son: Richard Lee Hadley of Cleveland, OH.; five sisters: Sarah High, Doris Hadley, Lorraine Sheets, Vera Long and Frances Betz all of Decatur, IL.; one brother: George Hadley of Decatur, IL; 6 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by one son: Michael Nelson Hadley; one grandaughter, Destiny Hadley; three brothers: Robert Hadley, Richard Hadley, and James Hadley; one sister: Mary Ann Stewart
A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family. Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald.
Arrangements were entrusted into the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford.
