Altheda L. Whitman, 95, of Dickson City, PA, died peacefully in her sleep on January 6, 2025 at home.

Born September 21, 1929 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Beulah Knox Whitman.

Al enjoyed going to Saturday night dinners with the girls and supported the local churches, firehouses and granges. She was forever going on bus trips to New York City, flower shows, craft shows and dinner theatres. Al was raised by her father after the death of her mother at an early age. They spent hours fishing together. A farmer at heart, she loved all animals big and small especially cats, but hated snakes. Al retired as a dedicated employee of the Gentex Corporation after 25 years.

A special thank you is extended to Allied In-Home Hospice for the excellent care given to Altheda, especially Joan, Dan, and Nicole for their compassion and kindness. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Dodge and Sandy for always being there for Altheda.

She is survived by three daughters: Altheda "Bonnie" Fulkerson, Arletta Fulkerson and Audrey Katchur; two sons: Adrian "Gene" Fulkerson and Stuart Fulkerson; seven grandchildren: Amy Fulkerson, Ryan Fulkerson, Sarah Fulkerson, Erick Ramunni, Jessica Ramunni, Morgan Ramunni and Ariana Katchur; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two children: PFC Ambrose Fulkerson and Anthea Fulkerson; a grandson: Alec Katchur; a son-in-law: Tom Katchur; a daughter-in-law: Bridget Fulkerson; and a sister: Lavinia Whitman.

A spring memorial will be held at the Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA.
