Alma Fairburn, age 85, of Carbondale, PA. died late Friday evening, August 29, 2003 at the home of her son, Fred in Vandling, PA. She was the wife of Fred Fairburn who died April 21, 1984. Born May 31, 1918 in St. Boniface, PA. She was the daughter to the late Fred and Minnie Ott Boyle. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a former member of the Senior Citizens Organization of Carbondale and Jermyn. She enjoyed bowling and bowled in various leagues. She is survived by three daughters: Eileen Falkowski of Jermyn, PA., Linda LaGace of Archbald, PA. and Patricia Suchniak of York, PA.; three sons: Fred Fairburn of Vandling, PA., Kenneth Fairburn of Archbald, PA. and Richard Fairburn of Clarks Summit, PA.; one sister: Loretta Gentile of Richfield Park, NJ.; one brother: Eugene Boyle of Patton, PA.; 9 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews She was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Catherine A. Fairburn, who died March 6, 2003; three brothers: Fred Boyle, Earl (Bud) Boyle and Thomas Boyle; four sisters: Beatrice Hooks, Pauline Gearhart, Romaine Kitchen and Mary Louise Boyle. The funeral was held Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Thomas J. McDermott, assistant pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA. Friends called Monday, September 1, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9. Pallbearers: Jeff Stinnard, Eric Stinnard, Scott Cabets, Carmine Bianco, Joseph Flakowski and James Hooks.
