Albert Lake, 63, formerly of Blakely, PA., died Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton, PA., after a lengthy illness.
Born March 31, 1949 in Jersey City, NJ., he was the son of the late George and Catherine Reynolds Lake.
He was a former resident of New Jersey and had resided in the area for the past 10 years. Prior to his illness, he had been employed in construction for many years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by two sisters: Lorraine Calabrese of Carbondale, PA. and Doris Davis of Keansburg, NJ.; five brothers: his twin, Allan Lake of Olyphant, PA., Kenneth Lake of Florida, Gerard Lake of Fort Myers, FL., Donald Hess of Scranton, PA. and Charles Hess of Jersey City, NJ.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Agnes Ambessi, Barbara Lanni and Carol Lawler; two brothers: Walter and Dennis Hess.
A graveside service followed by inurnment was held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Military honors were provided by the Simpson VFW Honor Guard. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
