Alan Guthrie, 40, of Carbondale, PA., died Tuesday afternoon, October 2, 2012 at the Osprey Ridge Health Care Center, Carbondale. Born February 4, 1972 in Paterson, NJ., he was the son of the late Irene Slockbower Davis. He was of the protestant faith and prior to his illness he had been employed as a foreman for Vicom Materials in Scranton, PA. He is survived by one daughter: Ashlyn Guthrie of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Roxane Rugar of Scranton, PA.; three brothers: John Slockbower of Childs, PA., Andrew Guthrie of Carbondale, PA. and Steven Kane of Hallstead, PA.; his step father: Michael Ephault of Scott Township, PA. Private services were held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
