Adella J. Kuna, 90, of Allentown, PA, formerly of Carbondale, PA, died after a short illness on Thursday, April 9, 2015, surrounded by her family. Her husband, Peter Kuna, died on October 7, 2002. Born in Simpson, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Yusavage Washeleski. She attended Fell Township schools, and was a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, and its former Altar and Rosary Society. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed. Surviving are two sons, Francis and wife Jeanette of Carbondale, PA, and Mark and wife Anne of Allentown, PA, with whom she resided; and two daughters, Audrey of Orlando, FL. and Carol and husband Robert Blair of Briarcliff Manor, NY; ten grandchildren: Frank, Steve, Bobby, Amanda, Matthew, Ryan, and Scott Kuna; and Maggie, Tim, and Jeff Blair; three great-grandchildren: Gavin Heenan, Keagan and Macey Adella Kuna. She was preceded in death by her seven sisters: infant siblings Florence and Josephine, Leocadia Booths, Bridget Kuna, Stasia Maciejewski, Amelia Kuna and Rose Bibalo; and four brothers: Joseph, Edmund, Chester and Adolph Washeleski. The funeral was held Saturday, April 11, 2015 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called on Saturday in the church, from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers: Frank, Steve, Bobby, Scott and Ryan Kuna and Tim and Jeff Blair - all grandchildren. Arrangements were entrusted to the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA. Memorial contributions were made to the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) c/o the funeral home.
